I love the month of February. This is the month of love, but also Black History Month. In salute of our ancestors, M2G will feature a prominent figure weekly. After careful thought and consideration, I felt it was most appropriate to start off with our Beloved, President Barack Obama ( I just LOVE the sound of that..PRESIDENT). Whether we agree with all of his policies and/or views, no one can take away that defining moment on November 4, 2008.
President Barack Obama is a testament to the saying, "The End of the Matter is better than the beginning." Martin Luther King Jr and many others struggled for equality and justice. Not only was the end of the matter better, it was a moment that marked the hand of time. We are living in a time where dreams really can come true. To our President, thank you for making us all believers...Believers of our dreams.
President Obama is at the top of the list of being MADE...Making A Difference Everyday and Everywhere!

***We cannot leave this blog post, without acknowledging his lovely wife, First Lady Michelle Obama. I just love the chemistry that exudes all across the tv screens. Is it just me, or does it send chills up your spine when he looks at his wife with that look that says,"The Look of Love."

I cannot believe this is the last blog of the year. WOW! Where did the time go?

This year has been a very exciting year. As I reflect on it, I am more the grateful for the many blessings God has given me. I truly believe when you step out on faith and do what you know to do, wonderful things start to unfold.

I have been blessed to speak at several functions, provide makeover sessions, and help many realize they are MADE!! What more can I ask for????

As I embark upon 2010, I know it is going to be even better. I woke up with a feeling of knowing"there is something GREAT out there just waiting for me." My job is to make sure I am doing what is required of me so I can receive it ALL!!!!!!

It is my prayer that everyone goes into 2010 with no regrets, and ready to aim higher than ever. Find that thing in life that makes you realize you are MADE and work towards it!

Raven Chism for Miss Whitehaven

This past Friday, I had the joy of watching my cousin, Raven Chism, compete for Miss Whitehaven. Raven did a great job throughout the entire competition. I was soooo proud of her. It is very hard to get on stage in front of your peers and knowing you will either win or lose! For that, I admire her courage and drive to get on that stage and showcase her talents. Raven had a big fan section full of family support-Daddy Ray Chism, Mama Akira, her mother, Ramsley, Raymia, Auntie Kim, Uncle Remark, Uncle Rashad,Granddaddy Ray Chism and Grandma Silvia, Raychel, Raymond, Raynard, William Jr, Mirlinda, Alisa, Lil William, and cousin Jerome. Special thank you to Jerome for making her intro a great success!!

Not only was I there to show my full support, but also my services in the make-up department. Auntie ReChandra was also assisting Raven with wardrobe changes and offering her encouraging words. Auntie ReChandra made sure every detail was taken care of. She knows the tricks of the trade :). Check out pics, and wish her well as she continues to campaign. Love you much Raven, and keep up the good work.

By the way, did I mention Raven is #3 in her class!!!!!! She is smart & beautiful!!!

Where did this year go????!!!! I cannot believe it, but I am very excited and not complaining. I am making plans now to eat good food, enjoy time with family & friends, and getting ready for a fresh/new start with 2010.

Today is a day where we reflect on our many blessings and give thanks. I am most grateful for my family, peace of mind, life, health, and strength. Even though this day comes around once a year, we should always count our blessings and thank God for all the great works he has done.

I pray each of you have a great day eating good food, laughing, and be grateful for life. I know I plan on eating, eating, and eating again. I am making my world famous sweet potato pie :)

Girls Night Out

This weekend, I had a great time with Michelle Johnson. Michelle hosted a Girls Night Out with her girlfriends and family members. To support Breast Cancer Awareness all of the guests were asked to wear pink. As a thank you to the guests, I provided them with pink goodie bags filled with great items as well as an informational for a home breast cancer exam. The first part of the night consisted of a facial session and the second part consisted of food and a question and answering session. We had no problems asking questions and telling it like it is. I will keep all questions and answers at Michelle's :)

Thank you Michelle for such a great evening, and I am looking forward to doing it again!!!!!

Facials with the Young at Heart

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of providing facials for the young at heart at Hearthstone Assisted Living in Bartlett, TN. I met some beautiful ladies and we had a great time. The residents were very sweet with so much compassion for me and many others. They really enjoyed the pampering session and looked beautiful with flawless skin the rest of the day.

I cannot wait to go back and see my new found friends.

I learned that day it is the little things in life that can bring a smile to someones face. Goes to show there are some things money cannot buy. Seeing the ladies smile brought an even bigger smile to my face and made me appreciate all the ups and downs that life has to offer.

I challenge everyone to do something that will bring a smile to another person and live your life to the fullest.

They are soo excited and cannot wait for their new arrival. Their first son, Ryan, knows something is going on and has gone back to his "Baby Days."

I have been having a great time this week. I have met beautiful women and they fell in love with Mary Kay, made new friends, and enjoyed reaching my goal. I AM STAR CONSULTANT for the 2nd time in a row!!!!!!

Today, I had the pleasure of hanging with another GLAM & Pregnant Woman, Alicia Lee. We had such a great time and shared many laughs. Alicia looks beautiful pregnant and I will post pictures tomorrow. Thank you Alicia for making my day and bringing a bigger smile to my face. Love you much!!

One of the biggest thing I love about my Mary Kay Business is the recognition. I love it! Once you win a prize, you want to keep them coming.

In my case, I have the best of both worlds with 2 great directors. Kimry Taylor is my director in North Carolina. Kimry's winning attitude made me sign up to be a consultant. Kimry knows how to get things done and teach people how to do the same. I love her for that!!! With Kimry being away, she wanted to make sure I was taken care of. She introduced me to Bakir Mason, my adopted director in Memphis, TN. Kimry did a great job picking her. Bakir is the sweetest person in the world with great things to share with her unit. My Weekend Vacation in Texas

This weekend, I went to Dallas to visit my other bff, Amberly. I was greatly in need for a get away. Amberly and I had a great time and I met some really cool people. We also met up with Roshawna, a friend from Fisk.

The city of Dallas is very cool with many things to do. This weekend I went to Carson's and learned how to Swing Dance-Chicago style. My partners said for the first time I did a great job. As long as I was counting, I was able to keep up. Once I stopped counting, that was a different story.

The next day we went out to this eatery, and I cannot remember the name. I was not that hungry so I had the best Strawberry Shortcake. It was soooooooooooo good. Afterwards, we went to this Open Mic Set. The place had a nice atmosphere and the band was on point. They played every song you can imagine.

Now the people that got up to perform~that's a different story. For one performer, Amberly and I had to leave the room. We could not take it any more.

Anyway, I had a great time and it was a needed vacation. I enjoyed myself and now waiting for my next trip.

Girls just want to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Amberly for a great time and it was worth it. I was able to kick back, relax, and have fun. I must admit, I could have stayed longer :) I had to get back to work and make people beautiful.

The wedding of Ken and Dee was beautiful. I tried to control my tears, but it was no good. Dee was the prettiest bride and just glowed the entire time. Ken could not stop looking at her nor keep his hands off her :).

The bride wore a beautiful mermaid fitting dress that hugged her body every right way. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

New Mama Looking GREAT

This past week, I had the best time pampering my cousin, Lavette Rodgers. Lavette just had a baby, Braylon, earlier this year. Braylon is the cutest baby boy in the world. He has the most beautiful green eyes and the biggest smile. He knows how to make the world smile.

Lavette is a stay at home mother as of now, and I wanted to do something special just for her. Growing up, Lavette was my cousin/partner in crime. We would steal purses of our aunts and cousins and play jokes on everybody. Lavette is that cousin you can go months without talking to, but when you talk it's like you talk everyday. If you ever need a good laugh, Lavette will never disappoint you. Lavette got a facial pampering bag full of goodies and other samples. After seeing her 2 minute makeover, Lavette felt like Sasha Fierce and danced while looking in the mirror. Gotta love it!

Lavette, congrats on the baby and continue to be FABULOUS!!!

Wedding Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend is going to be great!!!!!!! It is my best friend's, Dee Williams, wedding. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is finally here. After months of planning, she can now see the fruit of her labor. Dee is going to be a beautiful bride and she is going to make sure everything is on point.

Today is the bridal shower and then something a little special for the ladies. I cannot wait to share pictures with you. Tomorrow is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Of course, Saturday is the big day.

In the month of July, I was blessed with the opportunity to speak to the youth during TN4th Jurisdiction State AIM meeting.

The youth were very excited and they were a blessing to me. The theme for the entire week was "In Pursuit of Divine Favor." I decided to share with them the lives of Josepha and Esther. Both of those figures symbolized favor. When there is favor on your life, you will go through your storms, but they are just working together for your good and setting you up for your blessing.

We had an awesome time and I am grateful for the opportunity!

Changed to be Changed

This past Friday, I had the honor of speaking with the young ladies at New Nonconnah Church in Memphis, TN. The Youth Department was having a Back to School Rally/Sleepover, and I was asked to do a "girl's talk" with the ladies.

The theme for the rally was "Changed to be Changed." I explained to the young ladies once there is a change in your lifestyle and who you represent, the world should also see a change in your appearance. The girl's talk started out with Personal Hygiene 101, grooming tips, and what to wear and what not to wear. The girls were able to ask questions, give feedback, and enjoy themselves.

When you know who you are, who you represent, and where you are going in life, you let the world know when you step out the front door looking good from head to toe. You should want people to say, "I don't know who she is, but she is somebody."

We ended the class with every girl giving me an Affirmation saying who they are. I did my affirmation this week and it encouraged me to hold my head up high and keep moving forward. I know what it did for me and I wanted it to do the same for the girls. You should have seen the girls stand up with confidence speaking greatness.

It encouraged me and I encourage everyone to have a Self Affirmation.

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Shay. Shay is a recent graduate of Whitehaven High School and will be attending Southwest in the fall. Shay is considering majoring in Education or going into the medical field.

It was placed upon Dorian's heart to do something special for Shay and give her a new look while starting a new chapter in her life. Shay was such a delight to meet and has great things waiting for her in the future.

Party, party, and more parties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Things have been great, and I cannot complain. I have been having parties, going to them, and making a bride beautiful. I had to great parties this week and the ladies were super nice and encouraging. I always look forward to my "Pink Parties. This past weekend, I provided make-up services for a beautiful bride and her mother. I cannot wait to see pictures. I will let you know when they are available for viewing.

I left the wedding, heading to a Pink Party and boy was it a "wild" group. I laughed from the beginning to the end. That is one thing I enjoy about working with Mary Kay, I meet some really great women and develop working relationships. After the party, I went to a surprise bday party for one of my favorite cousins and we had a blast.

Busy Week

I am very excited about this week coming up. This week is going to be busy with great thrills. It is amazing when things just fall into place. Happy Fourth of July

Can you believe it? It's the 4th of July!!!!!! I can remember as a child getting very excited about the bar-b-que, going on a family member's home, and popping the firecrackers. My brother, Arness, and cousin, Almichael, always had a great time in that department.

I remember one year, we went over my uncle's house, ate as much food as we could, and then he took everyone on a hay-ride. We were singing songs, doing cheers and chants, and just enjoying each other. To everyone, have fun on this day. Enjoy being with love ones (family and friends) and celebrate life!!!!!

As I think about the 4th and being with family, I ran across this quote and wanted to share it with you:

Power Start

Can you believe it? I met my goal to finish a power start. I completed at least 30 faces in a month. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the best feeling to know you have reached your goal.

This past Saturday, June 27th, I was short 5 faces. I said I cannot 5 faces stop me. I called everyone I could think of and asked, "Can I borrow your face?" Thank you to everyone that helped me reach my goal and I am looking forward to July.

To everyone, if you have a goal continue to strive towards them. The reward is beautiful.

Hello everyone!!!!! I have been having fun and making life beautiful. I have met some great ladies that are really positive and encouraging. I really love my job and making women M.A.D.E. 2 Glam.

I wish everyone could feel the energy of excitement that happens in the skin care classes. The ladies are laughing, talking, giving compliments left and right saying, " I love that foundation on you. Your face is so radiant. Oh, your lips are beautiful." Everyone loves to hear great things about themselves. It brings out one's confidence.

That is the greatest thing I love about my job. It's just not about finding the perfect foundation, lip gloss, or eye shadow. It's about women feeling enriched and empowered to grow in confidence and tackle life. These ladies are Making A Difference Everywhere to Make Life Glamorous!

Another Great Party

This past Monday, M2G had another great party. Mrs. Doris Chism was the perfect hosts as well as the perfect photographer. She is taking appointments for the 2010 year. She had two wonderful guests and they were an active group. I had the honor of having Rycole Rone and Ms. Lula Rhyan in class. Both of these young ladies wanted to find the right products to fit there skin type. Once the class was over, they both left the party very much so satisfied. I am not sure who had the most fun, me or the guests. The class session was filled with laughter. I love my job!!!!!!!!!

Happy 30th Birthday

This past weekend, M2G went to Nashville to celebrate the birthday of Harold Finch, II. It was a surprise 30th bday celebration and we had a great time. Darcie Finch, my sister, has been planning this weekend for a while now and wanted everything to be just right. Darcie reserved the Stillwaters Cafe on Jefferson decorated the place "Harold's style." It was a great success, the music was just right, and so was everything else.

It was sooo funny. Darcie had Harold in the car blindfolded. It looked like Darcie kidnapped him. Once the blindfold came off, he was shocked to see his sister, Torie from Texas, childhood friends, and relatives near and far.

Harold, hope you enjoyed your birthday and love you much. Again, Happy Bday.

May Graduates

M2G is so proud of the class of 2009. They have worked so hard for many years and now it is their time to rejoice. This year, I attended the graduation ceremonies of my cousins. They are very special people in my life and know I they are M.A.D.E. to do great things in life.

Stefane` Puckett graduated from Olive Branch High with honors and will be attending Jackson State University in the fall. Stefane will be studying psychology.

Raven Williams graduted from Whitehaven High School with honors and will be attending The University of Memphis in the fall. Raven plans on majoring in education.

These two are great people and made their parents very proud. Stepane and Raven, we love you two very much and know you are both destined for greatness. Enjoy this next phase in your life as you add another chapter in this book called "Life." Have fun in college, but most importantly keep your head in the books :)

Today is a great day=My Bday

Today is such a great day. It's my bday! I am soo excited and blessed to celebrate my bday with special people in my life. On yesterday, my super-duper girlfriends, took me out. We had a ball and laughed so hard all night. Ask Amberly how long did it take us to order our food. Our server, Greg was awesome. This weekend, I had the pleasure of providing hair and makeup services for my first bride. YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you hear the excitement in my voice. I was soooooooo excited and even more thrilled because Felicia, the beautiful bride, was marrying my cousin, Courtney. Courtney is more like a little brother to me. My sisters and I taught Courtney how to walk, talk, changed his diaper, and shared in other great moments in his life. Just seeing him on his wedding day and assisting his beautiful bride was very special to me. Courtney and Felicia, M2G wishes you two the best in life and continue to be M.A.D.E.

M2G just had it's first baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Addison Elise Campbell was born Wednesday, May 13 at the Germantown Methodist Hospital. Addison weighs 8 pounds and 9 oz.

The proud parents, Patrick and Dorian Campbell, are very excited about the addition to their family and enjoying spending every precious moment with her. She is a doll and already has a fan club.

Sorry I have been away for a while. Things have been very busy-babies being born, grandmother's 90th birthday celebration, and weddings.

M2G had another great Mary Kay Party recently. This party was very special. We had our first bride, Felicia Wright (now Maxwell) in attendance. We were able to find her some great items that will be essential for her big day. I was even blessed by one of the guests. The guest informed me she has been having a bad week and the class gave her a pick me up! Thanks for the support and continue to be M.A.D.E.

Make Me Over-Make Me Right

What a great weekend I had!!!! We were in Women's Conference at my local church, Messiah Fellowship. During the conference, a young lady learned she would be awarded a makeover. Kim Riley was the lucky young lady and just cried when she heard the news.

My partner in crime for the makeover event was Cotillion McClain. We made such a great team and were able to feed off each other. The three of us went out Friday to find Kim an outfit. We had fun looking at beautiful as well as ugly clothes. After Kim selected her outfit with the accessories to match, the next part was the hair!

Kim has some super thick hair and after playing with some ideas, we gave her a short bob/cut. Was she nervous about the cut? Not at all!! At first, we kept Kim's hair longer in the back. After some consultation with me, we decided to shorten the back to soften the flow of her hair. When she saw the finished product, she was smiling from ear to ear!! The next day was the make-up application. We used Mary Kay Cosmetics on Kim and it gave her such a glow! She did admit she was slightly nervous because she does not wear make-up. After seeing it all put together, she thought she looked very well put together and natural.

Kim made her debut Sunday afternoon at the highlight of the Women's Conference. She "strutted her stuff" to "It's the God in Me." Oh, let's not forget that Kim did receive professional runway training from Messiah's runway expert, my partner in crime, Cotillion McClain. Look at Cotillion work it in the pictures below. At the end of the service, everyone was able to come in the fellowship hall and watch the videos of Kim shopping and getting her hair done. Afterwards, everyone went around the room complimenting Kim on her new look! Sometimes, we will never know how words can motivate and encourage someone.

Kim, keep up the good work and you are a beautiful woman inside and out. You have great things waiting for you. Continue to be blessed and M.A.D.E-Making A Difference Everywhere!

Hello Everyone,

M2G had it's first party. It was a great success and products were sold. I thank my host, Sis. Doris Chism, for doing such a great job and looking forward to many more in the future. Yes, I was very nervous at the beginning,but the more I started to talk I felt better. Besides the nerves, I had a lot of fun and know I made the right decision. Mary Kay has opened many doors for me, and I know I will have a success story down the road.

Guests included: Sherwanda Chism, DJ (yes, he provided entertainment LOL), Lisa G. Puckett, Dorian Campbell, and of course our host. To my guests, thank you for your support and helping me make my debut.

Made2Glam (M2G) has joined with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Yes, you heard it CORRECTLY. After serious thought, prayer, and consideration I am proud to say I am a beauty consultant with Mary Kay. Why? Being a user of Mary Kay products, I can sing praises of their make-up. I love them. I have been considering stepping out into makeup for a while and had been thinking about the right path to take. Well, my soror, Kimry Taylor, emailed me and the rest is history.

Image Development 2-SKin Care and Make-up

Made 2 Glam had it's second image development and refinement class. We had a blast this time as well. The question was asked to the class " Are You In Order?" In this class, we discussed proper skin care (rule #1 for make-up application). We talked about bar soaps, moisturizers, toners, and different lotions and other smell goods.

Once we finished the #1 rule for make-up, we talked about the basic make-up items for beginners. We told them for starters to keep it basic and know what colors compliment each other. The girls were very excited, asked questions, and gave their comments. We had a blast and I am looking forward to the next session.

Made 2 Glam emphasized the importance as a young developing young lady, there are things we have to do to keep the body looking and feeling good.

**Side Note: I am a big fan of Neutrogena products. If you have never tried them, you should. You would love the way the products leave your skin smooth and refreshing. Also these are just suggestions and all outcomes will differ depending on skin types.

The Salon-A place of "Me Time"

People come in and out of Supercuts daily. Sometime, people come in during their lunch break, realize it's time to get their hair cut, come in to socialize, and sometimes they just need their "Me Time."

Today, a young lady sat in my chair and I could tell something was wrong and stressful. After a few minutes of conversation and consultation, she told me her sister was in the hospital and was gravely ill. She then went on to say that she had to leave the hospital to get some "Me Time." After talking and she was looking unhappy about her hair/current situation, we decided to spruce up her current cut and add blonde highlights.

After both services were done, she had a radiant glow in her face and said she looks alive again. I was very blessed to be the person to shed some light in her life. Instead of my usual close, I said I will keep the family in my prayers and thoughts. She said thanks and I knew she not only needed the kind words, but also a mini makeover during this time in her life.

Stay blessed and positive and spread the act of love!

What are you saying without saying anything

This past weekend, I was given the opportunity to speak with a group of young ladies (ages 16-22) at church. This is a very special group of ladies. They are serious about taking a stand and living right.

I spoke on the subject, "What does your image say about you?" I had a great time addressing topics ranging from hair care to personal hygiene. The young ladies really enjoyed the session and asked if I could come back. In class, we really reinforced personal image and what "vibe" are you giving off. We had a blast and I am looking forward to our next session.

Remember, before you ever open your mouth people will judge you just off your appearance. Be sure to always dress the part of the role you want to play.

We love short hair!

In case you have not figured it out, we love short hair. I love cutting hair. When someone say they want to go shorter, I love it more. I am like "Let's ROCK!!!!!!"

Short hair is soooooooo in style. For a woman to rock a short cut, it shows her confidence as well as her pretty long neck and beautiful cheeks.

If you take a look at celebrity women, they are chopping off the beautiful locks. Check out Rhianna, Keyshia Cole, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Victoria Beckham.

I had the privilege of cutting my other BFF, Dee Williams, hair. We had a ball. Dee has such a "spunky" attitude and can rock any hairstyle and outfit. Dee can make a brown paper bag talk :). Dee was in town and decided to get her hair cut shorter. She was pleased with the results and has been my PR person every since then. Take a look! Rock on Dee Fab!!!!!!! Huh Dee LOL.

On January 20th, when I saw Michelle Obama step foot on stage, chills went up my spine and tears just started to roll down my face. The First Lady of the United States of American is a beautiful African American. Michelle Obama is a class act. I have many reasons to admire her. Here are just a few reasons as to why I admire her.

She stands proudly beside her husband and gets a glow in her eyes when she looks at him.

Loving mother to her daughters
Educated and intelligent and seems to be very down to earth

Always fashion forward

I look at her and can learn so much. After reading and looking at the news, she is encouraging other women to be a better wife, mother, career driven, and all together a better person. Now, that's a powerhouse for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On another note, her hair,make-up, and clothes are always on point. When I look at her, I see grace and style. See for yourself. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a beautiful first lady!

Today we had in-house training and had an awesome Art Director, Dana. Dana was going over techniques and product knowledge. She then got to telling us stories and one story in particular touched me and I wanted to share it with you.

"One day a lady came into Supercuts in North Carolina at 6:00 pm and within minutes went into the restroom. Minutes and even an hour went by and the lady was still in the restroom. The store manager told Dana to check on the lady. The lady finally came out 5 minutes before closing (7:55pm). Stephanie decided to cut the lady's hair. The lady was overweight and could not fit in the chair. Dana had to bring two seats together to accommodate the client. Afterwards, Dana started her consultation and asked, "What will we be doing today." The lady responded, "Look at me, what can you really do for me?" Dana then went on to compliment the lady on her beautiful features. Dana cut the lady's hair and then they said good night.

The next day, the same lady came into the salon to speak with Dana's manager. After a period of time, the lady left. The manager asked for Dana to come into the office. Within minutes, the manager told Dana that the lady came in with the intentions to commit suicide and wanted to look beautiful when she was found. She was embarrassed by the way she looked and stayed in the restroom. Dana made her feel so good about herself that she decided to wake up the next morning to tell Dana's manager.

Always have a positive attitude. You will never know how you can impact someone.

"The Bob"

Bobs have always been in style. Over the last year or so, they have really "stepped it up" as far as the framework. Being at Supercuts, I knew I would really be able to add that something "special" to an ordinary bob or any hairstyle to that matter.

My line sister, Patrice, came down during the Holiday Break, and wanted her hair to have more pizzazz. Of course, I was more than excited to work some magic.

She wanted it short, but long enough at the same time considering the fact she does not have a relaxer. Also, she wanted to keep the length on her sides. I was very pleased when Patrice said the cut looked good! She has no problem telling you the truth. Thanks Patrice!!

I have been very blessed to have family members that had no problem being my science project. Sherwanda, my sister, was the person that let me try colors in her head. She would ask me what am I going to do. My response, "something pretty." Deep down Sherwanda knew I was guessing what colors to mix with what developer, and what toner. The finished results. We came up with a beautiful ending. She let me color her hair with love :)

A comment was made today that a person know that are getting better when they can cut hair and keep going. That comment was made when I was "touching up" Dorian's hair.

Even on yesterday a lady came into Supercuts @ Collierville after a messed up hair cut from a high end salon here in the city. I was the next stylist available, and her hair cut was NOT RIGHT (AT ALL). As she sat in my chair and explained what she wanted, I was thinking "How am I going to fix this??!!" Because of my Supercuts training, I was able to think of the steps needed to correct the situation, and we had a beautiful outcome. The client's reaction was, " Oh Yes, so much better! This is what I wanted" Her husband even said the same thing. I was smiling and blushing from cheek to cheek.

This entire time, I was unaware that I was being watched by another young lady. After this young lady saw my work, she requested for me to cut her hair. Her response, " I was worth the wait."

Great Hair Products

For those that have never heard of Carol's Daughter, it is the best!!! I just left the Sephora Beauty Store today buying products for my niece, Darilyn. Months ago, I felt that my hair was missing that "Glow." After researching, I was motivated to try Carol's Daughter. I wanted a product that will give my hair a natural shine, but at the same time not weigh it down. Tui Oil and Hair Butter worked wonders. The best part is, all the products are made of natural products.

Being a new stylist, there are so many different things to learn. You want to make sure that every cut, color, and style is done just right. Many times, other stylist can see areas of improvement or mistakes....

On January 2, 2009 I cut one of my BFF's, Amberly M. Mann's hair. Years after pinning up her braids in college for the homecoming boat rides, I was putting scissors in her head. Well, after many clips, hair fell to the floor, hair was over her ears, and finally it was gone!!! We were both smiling ear to ear!

Well, she went back to Texas and went to her regular stylist for a shampoo. After "analyzing" her hair, the stylist said "Whoever did you hair did a good job. I cannot even knock it."

That made my day and gave me that reassurance that I am where I need to be.

The Start of Something Beautiful!

Hello Everyone!!

I am very excited about the things that are going on in my life. I married the one that was created for me about a year ago. Yes, we are approaching our one year anniversary!! Also, I am walking in my purpose and making progress everyday with my career goals.

Ever since I was a young child, my hands stayed in someone's hair. I would try to duplicate every style I saw being done. After I graduated from Fisk University in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration and Management, I followed my heart. I enrolled in Plaza Beauty School and have not looked back!

I am currently employed at SuperCuts in Collierville (Poplar and Byhlia) and loving the experience. Everyday I am learning something new and growing! I am loving it and know things will only get better.

Cathy Jones was one of my first clients that said "cut it off." I felt like a child during Christmas time, "for me." I could not wait to start "hacking" it off. After making sure Cathy was ok as each string of hair fell to the floor, we were good to go. Cathy had to close her eyes in between taking deep breaths! Anyway, we cut her hair and she went to Sherwanda's House (of Curls LOL) to have it curled and styled. Below are images of the finished product. WORK IT CATHY!!!!!
